Our AGM – Feature Presentation
Our AGM Feature Presenter this year is our own Judy Colantino. As our Vice-President and Past-President of the DSAH, Judy also Chairs the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board’s SEAC (Special Education Advisory Committee), and stands on the Board of Community Living Hamilton. All of these positions rely a level of expertise and insight that are unparalleled in our circle. Add to that more than 20 years of first hand knowledge of Down syndrome, and we have the reigning expert on our team.
Judy has developed a presentation that she has shared with both of our school boards, medical professionals, and community members that leaves participants with an understanding of Down syndrome that no book, video, or course can provide. Her interactive workshop shows attendees what it’s really like to live and try to learn when Down syndrome is part of the equation. Eye-opening and attitude changing, this is a must for anyone who wants to understand and support someone with DS.
The Down Syndrome Association of Ontario has asked Judy to present her workshop at their Annual Conference in Niagara Falls this October. We are excited to be able to offer it first to our own members. Whether your child is 2 or 22, we can almost guarantee that you will come away from this presentation with understanding and competence you didn’t have before.

Our Monthly Meetings
Our monthly Executive Meetings are held the fourth Thursday of the month, except July, August, and December from 7-9pm, at Community Living Hamilton, located at 191 York Blvd. in Hamilton. All members are welcome to attend, participate, and visit with Executive members. No RSVP is necessary unless you require help with transportation or child care. Refreshments are served.
